Dr. André Fonteles joined Indiana Wesleyan University in 2018. Born and raised in Brazil, he spent 5 years in France after being blessed with a full PhD scholarship from the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation. He obtained his doctoral degree in computer science from Université Grenoble-Alpes where he also worked as a full-time lecturer and researcher for one year. He spent another six months as a post-doctoral researcher at Université de Pau et Pays de l’Adour. He also has some experience in industry and as an indie app developer – his apps have been downloaded more than 500k times. Dr. Fonteles loves to spend his time deepening his relationship with Jesus and meditating in his Words. He also enjoys learning new languages and discovering different cultures, playing computer games and studying theology. Dr. Fonteles lives with his delightful wife Lya.
